LetsTech delivered a high-performance connectivity solution for Boardmasters, a large-scale outdoor festival combining live music and surfing events across two major locations in Newquay: Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach.
With a combined daily capacity of over 80,000 attendees across both sites, the event required reliable and scalable connectivity to support critical systems including cashless payments, ticket scanning, CCTV monitoring, and operational communications. LetsTech designed and deployed a solution capable of supporting multiple environments simultaneously, ensuring consistent performance across both locations.

Delivering connectivity for Boardmasters required careful planning to address several technical and logistical challenges.
The event spans two large and separate coastal sites, each requiring stable and consistent wireless coverage. In addition, the solution needed to:
- Support high volumes of simultaneous card transactions across busy event periods
- Manage multiple site-wide networks for production, vendors, security, and operations
- Operate reliably within a temporary environment with limited existing infrastructure
- Provide stable connectivity for real-time CCTV monitoring
- Function effectively within an open public environment with high user demand
These requirements needed to be delivered within a tight installation window while ensuring consistent performance throughout the event.

LetsTech implemented a robust and scalable network solution tailored to the dual-site nature of the festival.
At the core of the deployment was a temporary fibre backbone, supporting connectivity across both locations and enabling fast, reliable data transmission between key areas.
Building on this infrastructure, LetsTech delivered:
- Site-wide WiFi coverage through the deployment of 170+ wireless access points
- Dedicated connectivity for cashless payment systems to ensure fast and reliable transactions
- Secure network infrastructure for ticket scanning systems across both sites
- Connectivity for 40 CCTV cameras, enabling real-time monitoring and site security
- Site-wide VoIP telephone systems, supporting clear and dependable communication for event teams
The network was fully installed, configured, and tested ahead of the event, with ongoing monitoring to ensure consistent performance throughout.
